    Definitely very innovative technology. It’s done very much accurately. I just have a one question in my mind that the action of real piano may effected in humidity climate like some acoustic piano behaves in climate but on acoustic we have provision to fix the dehumidifier but what is the other option to make action perform hassle free in any climate? It’s an ultimately digital and many electronics parts inside the pianos. I don’t know if such issues come then how to fix? Thanks ❤❤❤

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 24 дні тому

      Yes, that's right. The CN301 is a little bigger in each dimension, and especially depth, due the additional top-mounted speakers. For players seeking a compact instrument for their home, the CN201 is a great option.

      @@KawaiPianosGlobal thanks so much for the response.. I will go for the 201. But those extra speakers on the 301 shissshh😅. Its tempting. Can I use the 201 with external speakers via midi or aux plug

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 21 день тому

      @@jomiongoo We're happy to help! While it does have less features, the CN201 is still a great option. However, please note that this model does not feature Line Out connectors. It will theoretically be possible to connect additional speakers to one of the headphone connectors (be sure to disable headphone sound processing such as "Spatial Headphone Sound"), however this will also mute the instrument's built-in speakers. The CN201 does not feature the standard DIN MIDI connectors, however MIDI data can be sent/received using the piano's USB to Host port, allowing the CN201 to trigger virtual instrument software running on a computer etc. We hope this helps!

    I was excited owning one because I saw the best reviews. Now I have had nearly 2 years. I don’t think it is that worth. I could have spend less money with other digital piano. I realized that there are no Kawai special technicians. It took me over a year to have someone come to see my piano issues. He only solved one problem - pedal was not responsive . Still have squeaky noise . Also my piano has ringing sound issues , he had no clue. He said he was not Kawai tech? But general digital piano tech. I don’t feel much different from less priced kawai digital piano. If I could buy one , I’ll spend less money with other one.

    Kawai NV5S is a good hybrid piano..the action and response is excellent…btw, base on current market demand, most buyers should targeting the action mechanism & inner voice quality more on digital piano..most buyers of this type product will almost only fully using the instrument with putting headphone on without create external noise to neighboour where sound board and speaker will be a less value added features..hope one day Kawai may brave and innovative enough to release a similar version with directly removing the sound board & even output speaker..the cut budget of sound board & speaker may instead put on focusing the inner voice quality, grand piano action mechanism & responsiveness and allow 2 headphones output at the same time (produce a piano that only can be heard with headphone on)..this should will be a new game changer of this type product’s market and attracting many acoustic pianists..strongly suggesting Kawai may do the survey on that for the possibilities..

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 28 днів тому

      Hello Chan You, thank you for your comment. Generally speaking, Kawai is focussed on developing instruments that appeal to as broad a range of consumers as possible. The Novus NV5S and NV10S are already relatively niche pianos, therefore removing the ability for either model to produce sound may impair their perceived viability as an acoustic piano replacement for a large number of customers. It should also be noted that many Kawai digital and hybrid piano instruments already incorporate two headphone connectors, and that both connectors can be used simultaneously. Thank you once again for your feedback, we will pass your comments on to the product planning department for their consideration.

    • @chanyou9567

      @@KawaiPianosGlobal , it is not suggesting to removing the current good features of NV5S instead hopefully one day Kawai may consider open a new product line that without the mentioned soundboard and speaker feature (but with grand piano action mechanism) as considered less value added feature to certain extent of buyers who worrying / limited by practice’s environment & hour especially on current society’’s modern living structure…Revolution always come from innovative & crazy ideas..anyway, definitely appreciating on the attention’s paid & feedback..

    How does it compare to the cn301 and the ca401? I've played piano as a kid for 4 years and recently picked it back up. I'm on about the same skill level, an intermediate/ advanced player. I've always played acoustic. However, with the current circumstances, i need a digital piano because of the ability to play with headphones and not needing to tune it. On my lessons i'm practicing on an acoustic piano, which feels alot better than the current digital piano i have at home. I also perform better when i'm playing an acoustic. Given my skill level and experience, would the cn201 hold up well or would a CA401 suit me better? Over here it's quite a steep price difference (cn201 is 1250€, ca401 is 2000€). My current budget is set on 1500€, but if it's worth it i can stretch with that. Also, what are some recommendations for used CA models?

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 2 місяці тому

      Thank you for your comment and questions. In terms of features, the CN201 and CA401 are very similar, with one of the main differences being that the CA401 incorporates the Grand Feel Compact wooden key keyboard action. The CN301 shares the same sound engine and keyboard action with the CN201, while offering a broader range of sounds and connectivity options (including USB to Device, Line In/Line Out). Here is a side-by-side comparison of the CN201, CN301, and CA401 specifications: www.kawai-global.com/product_comparison/detail.php?n=cn201,cn301,ca401&ct=36 As for which instrument is more suitable in your case, we would always recommend visiting a Kawai dealer in order to play-test these instruments in person, however if your primary focus is on a digital piano that feels as close to that of an acoustic piano as possible (within a specific budget), the CA401 with its wooden key seesaw keyboard action would be our recommendation. Regarding used CA models, it is difficult to recommend any specific models, however our suggestion would be to stick to instruments that are 1~2 generations old. We hope this helps - best of luck with your search!

      @@KawaiPianosGlobal Hello, thank you for your helpful advice! I've been to a kawai dealer today and this really helped to clear things up a bit. I'm now fully aware of what the market has to offer and what i'm looking for. I played on alot of different models, including the cn301, all of the CA models, and even an AURES 2 piano! I've settled on the CA series. I'm currently considering the CA701 and the CA901. I have a few more questions about piano's in general. On your site, the specifications also mention "polyphony". What does this mean? The second question, what's the difference between the "sustain" and "sostenuto" pedals? I learnt to play on an upright piano with only 2 pedals, the sustain (which would lift the dampers) and the piano pedal. What does sostenuto do? Thank you in advance for your help.

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 2 місяці тому

      @@ayviuon Thank you for positive feedback - it's great to read that you were able to play-test a range of different Kawai instruments at your local dealer's store, and that you are considering the CA701 and CA901. Regarding your additional questions, which we apologise for overlooking up until now: "Polyphony" refers to the number of notes that the instrument can produce (sound) simultaneously. A "Maximum Polyphony" specification of 256 means that the instrument can theoretically produce 256 notes at the same time. However, the way these notes are allocated can vary depending on the sound selected. The difference between the "Sustain" (aka "Damper") and "Sostenuto" pedals can be outlined as follows: - Depressing the Damper/Sustain pedal sustains the sound after the player's hands have been lifted from the keyboard. - Depressing the Sostenuto pedal after playing the keyboard and before releasing the keys, sustains the sound of only those notes that were played at that moment. Any keys that are subsequently played after the sostenuto pedal is depressed will not be sustained. We hope this helps!

      Hello Nolin, thanks again for your reply. It's true that different piano manufacturers have different tonal characteristics. Some pianists favour the sound of Kawai instruments, others may prefer the sound of other manufacturers' pianos. The most important point is for the pianists to play an instrument that they enjoy and find musically inspiring.

      Hello, thank you for your comment. While the CA401 does not have dedicated Line Out connectors, it is still possible to capture a high quality recording of the piano from one of the instrument's headphone connectors. We recommend using an external audio recorder, although recording directly into a DAW is also possible. Note that when one of the headphone connectors is used, the instrument's built-in speakers will be muted. Therefore, it will be necessary to connect either a pair of headphones or an external speaker to the other headphone connector, in order to listen to the instrument as it is being played and recorded. For more information about how to record audio from a Kawai digital piano, please refer to the following FAQ article: www.kawai-global.com/support/faq/how-can-i-record-the-audio-produced-by-my-kawai-digitalhybrid-piano-onto-a-computer/ We hope this helps!

    Is the sound in this video performance recorded line-out (as it would be heard with headphones) or is it micked overhead of the speaker sound (as it would be hears within a room)? The speaker sound is important to me because I prefer not to use headphones. Thank you!

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 4 місяці тому

      Thank you for your comment. The sound in this video was recorded from the CN201's headphone output. The CN201 does not feature Line Out connectors, therefore the headphone output is the only way to capture the instrument's sound (without using microphones). However, connecting a recorder to the headphone output will also mute the instrument's speakers, therefore an external speaker (placed behind the instrument, out of shot) was also connected to the secondary headphone output. We hope this helps!

    Congratulations for this brilliant cinematic advertisement ! Stunning cinematography, acting and playing ! Obviously the "Novvus" hybrid piano is technically "reviewed" in other video's in detail but this gives it "stardom" ! Great story board : dreamy and timeless ( black & white ) shots of the arrival of the STAR by car to the "concert hall". Followed by well motivated detailed camera shots of the artist and instrument. Lovely piano music ( Chopin Prelude ) lifts this fabulous "promo" video to artistic highs ! I wonder who is the cinematographer behind this (credits) ?

    The only thing that makes me hesitate to purchase the kdp120 is all of that exposed wood. Especially underneath the main body of the piano where the speakers are housed. It looks like raw chipboard. Other manufacturers seem to cover that up with a nice veneer that matches the rest of the instrument. If Kawai did the same then I would definitely purchase the kdp120.

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 5 місяців тому

      Thank you for your comment. As you correctly note, the underside of the KDP120 is uncovered. If this cosmetic detail is of concern to you, we would recommend considering the CN201. This model provides various keyboard action, sound, function, and design benefits over the KDP120, and is strongly recommended for players seeking a step-up instrument. 02:11 For $19,000 is a pair of hind legs really too much to expect?! What an odd silhouette from every POV but the pianist's.

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 5 місяців тому

      Thank you for your comment. The NV10S design is intended to evoke the appearance of a grand piano (which traditionally has three legs), with a modern twist. The rear structure supports the instrument, contains the low frequency speaker and electronics PCBs, and is offset by the three pedal rods.

    Is it possible to download and install more instrumental sound samples? I know I can adjust the sounds in the app, but is it possible to load more samples with the app or by connecting to a PC? Honestly, for its price, CN-201 has very few samples.

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 6 місяців тому

      Hello, thank you for your question. The CN201 does not support the ability to install additional instrument sounds. As a digital piano, the focus is primarily on acoustic piano sounds (8 types), with a selection of other, non-piano instruments (11 types) to add variety to the player's performance. The CN201 can however be used as a MIDI instrument, allowing software-based instruments running on a computer or smartphone/tablet to be controlled from the piano's keyboard. We hope this answers your question.

      @@KawaiPianosGlobal Do you mean using VST samples? If so, I had bad experiences with long latency on my PC, although that was on entry-level Roland piano. Someone suggested I should upgrade my sound card to something dedicated, but I don't think that would be possible on a tablet.

    • @KawaiPianosGlobal
      @KawaiPianosGlobal 6 місяців тому

      @@mipe7755 Hello, thank you for your reply. Yes, software-based sample libraries (often referred to as VSTs) allow piano and other instrument sounds to be played back from a computer. Latency can be an issue with some hardware setups, however this can be improved using a dedicated soundcard/audio interface. It is possible to use most audio interfaces with tablets/smartphones, however it's perhaps less common. iOS/iPadOS devices have a strong selection of high quality sample library apps available, however these are less common on Android devices. We hope this helps!
